As a recent graduate from Regent’s University, with a degree in Fashion Marketing, I have undertaken several marketing internships with well-established fashion brands such as Whistles and Reiss. These placements have enabled me to develop not only specific marketing industry experience, but also a valuable and core transferrable skill set for this fast paced sector.  These opportunities have also provided me with a practical understanding of what is expected within industry and therefore strengthened my enthusiasm to progress further.

 

During my placements I worked in the marketing division, compiling regular reports focused on marketing activity performance. Often liaised with the graphics team to arrange for the creation and effective distribution of marketing materials.  I also supported the wider marketing team to develop and refine customer retention and new customer acquisition strategies as well as, learnt to utilise spreadsheets to analyse data and spot trends.   These experiences have massively contributed to my current knowledge and resilience of the marketing sector and allowed me an analytical and creative outlet, which has broadened my overall abilities and demonstrate that I am able to flourish through any challenge.

 

Furthermore, working in the retail industry for the latter and post part of my adolescent life, has also taught me invaluable skills that are beneficial in any area of work I wish to pursue.  For example, working in the heart of London requires constant interaction with customers, impeccable personal organisation skills, and the aptitude to work within a substantial team as well as display self-initiative and awareness. Being part of the flagship store, at Lush Cosmetics and &OtherStories, provided me with a platform to build a network, participate in visual merchandising and gain deeper insight into the realities of the retail environment. It is fundamental to build an understanding of the industry from every level possible. I believe this to be crucial for anyone aspiring for any career within fashion.

 

Additionally, my friendly and positive personality coupled with my ability to think realistically and strategically, allows me to make logical decisions, both individually and within a team set-up. I believe it is essential to obtain balance within the work place as it ensures longevity in work, cultivates healthy relationships amongst colleagues and future productivity.

 

I am looking to secure a position with the marketing sector, where I can bring immediate and strategic value and develop current skillset further. I believe I would be an asset to your company as I strive to reach my highest potential in any given situation. Furthermore, each of these opportunities have enhanced my familiarity with the industry and opened my mind to the plethora of ways every experience can better shape you as a person, academically, professionally and personally and how these developments can contribute to future success.  

 

My long-term goals involve setting up an ethical/sustainable fashion brand that is desirable across every level of the market. A brand that challenges the status quo of the current fast fashion culture and adheres to mindfulness and respect of the planet, its resources and those that encompass it. I believe that every opportunity I am given is a step closer to achieving this goal and therefore will work incredibly hard, in all that I do.
